Hippie Holler Vapors E-Liquid Review

Hippie Holler Vapors
Bottom Line
Hippie Holler Vapors has some great e-liquids in their line-up, prices their juices fairly and has plenty of flavors to choose from, but aren’t quite up there with the best in the industry. Pick up some Sweet Home Alabama and a few others, but don’t expect anything too special.

Hippie Holler Vapors

Hippie Holler Vapors is far from the biggest name in the industry, but they’re one to check out. Their selection of juices definitely has some misses, but the times they get it right the result can be really excellent. While they value quality, there’s no pretentiousness – the e-liquid is often delicious, but it isn’t held back by an attempt to be “gourmet.”

Additionally, the prices are very reasonable indeed, so picking up a few bottles won’t make much of a dent in your bank balance. They’re not the best juices you’ll ever try, but some of the liquids could easily find their way into your regular rotation.

Hippie Holler juice review

Missouri-based Hippie Holler Vapors got started in 2014, founded by Sarah, a smoker of 10 years who kicked the habit thanks to vaping in 2009. Her goal was simple: to bring great-tasting e-juice to the world, preferably with a touch of hippie flair. Their selection is pretty big, offering seven candy flavors, nine desserts, ten fruits, seven menthols and nine tobaccos, with inventive names like Sweet Cheeses (blueberry cheesecake), Karma (butterscotch and caramel), Magic Dragon (peach and apple), Pink Panther (strawberries and banana) and Experimenthol (spearmint and menthol). They also value quality, with all their juices made from food-grade flavorings, with no added colors or preservatives and no diacetyl. We’ve vaped our way through eight of the juices in our Hippie Holler Vapors e-juice review to see if the hippi-fied blends are worth the purchase.

Packaging and Design

Hippie Holler 5 ml bottles

Hippie Holler’s juices are available in 5, 15, 30 and 100 ml bottles, priced at $2.99, $6.99, $12.99 and $32.99, respectively. The bottles and design are relatively straightforward, with the 5 ml taster bottles being the standard plastic type, bearing a basic label with the hippie sun logo, the core information about the juice (including a mixing date) and a brief warning. Some larger bottles come in blue-tinted glass with a dripper top included. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.

Mixing Options

There are plenty of nicotine options from Hippie Holler, with 0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 and 24 mg/ml being available, offering an ample selection for everyone from the heaviest smokers hoping to make the switch right through to vapers on their way to being nicotine free. The lower-nicotine options in particular will be a welcome addition for many vapers, making the final phases of stepping down to being nicotine free as smooth as possible. There are also two PG/VG ratios available: 50/50 and a max VG blend of 20/80. 50/50 suits most vapers’ tastes, but the option for those looking for a dense, VG-heavy vape and anybody sensitive to PG is a nice addition. Our bottles were in 50/50, offering a good balance between throat hit and dense clouds of vapor. Hippie Holler is excellent in this department, overall.

Hippie Holler Vapors E-Liquid Flavors

Hippie Holler Vapors e-liquid flavors

Sweet Home Alabama – Rating 4.5/5

Accuracy: This is Hippie Holler’s most popular flavor, a blend of sweet Southern pecans and aromatic tobacco to kick back on your porch with. The tobacco is present throughout your draw, having that odd, muted and slightly musty flavor you get from many tobacco replications, but the star of the show is definitely the pecan, providing an overriding sweetness and some much-needed character to the taste. The nuttiness really comes through on the exhale, particularly so in the nose, taking the juice to the next level.

Overall: It’s easy to see why this tobacco e-liquid is the most popular offering from Hippie Holler, having a warm, nutty sweetness that it’s incredibly easy to keep going back to. It could be better, if the underpinning tobacco was a little more authentic-tasting and if the pecan flavor was dialed up a touch more in the mix, but this is ideal all-day-vape material. An awesome juice, overall – definitely one to try if you place an order.

Monkey Farts – Rating 4/5

Accuracy: As the name so inelegantly suggests, this is a fruity blend; a medley of pineapple, coconut, strawberry and banana. The pineapple is the most noticeable element, immediately followed by hints of coconut and touches of strawberry, with the banana being more of a background element throughout. You do pick up distinct flavors, rather than a generic fruity concoction like you get with many mixed fruit juices.

Overall: The flavor here is definitely pleasant; something you can happily vape, but not a stand-out flavor. The sweet, fruitiness makes it difficult to dislike, but it could use just a touch more character to turn it into something exceptional.

Awesome Sauce – Rating 4/5

Accuracy: This is billed as “vanilla and custard with a graham cracker crust,” and again every element in the juice comes through. The vanilla and custard combine beautifully, producing a creamy sweetness, with the custard being dominant but lightly flavored throughout your puff with a subtle vanilla. The graham cracker is more dominant on the inhale, very well-captured and adding an extra hit of sweetness to the juice.

Overall: A very enjoyable dessert e-liquid, carried by the rich sweetness and given an extra unique twist with the addition of the graham cracker. It could be pushed into truly awesome territory with the addition of something like honey or maple syrup, but it’s definitely one to try regardless.

Hawaiian Hippie – Rating 4/5

Accuracy: This is a fruity concoction of mango, kiwi and lime, with the latter two serving as undertones. The mango is surprisingly muted, reasonably well-replicated and strongest at the start of your puff but soon drowned by the flavor of the kiwi and lime. The kiwi and lime are both very well done, with the tropical taste of the kiwi coming through on the nose and the zestiness of the lime giving the whole thing some bite.

Overall: Despite the balance of flavors being a little off what was advertised, the juice is really quite good overall. The kiwi really carries the taste, with the mango being a nice lead-in and the lime topping it all off well. If you’re a fan of fruity vapes – and don’t opt for this one solely for the mango – it’s definitely one you’ll enjoy.

Master Menthol – Rating 2.5/5

Accuracy: This is proudly billed as the “best ever” tobacco menthol, which is quite the statement to live up to. In terms of the menthol, the juice does a really good job, offering a refreshing, cooling blast of mint with every puff. It’s icy and robust, without coming off as synthetic or overly powerful. The tobacco, on the other hand, is much like a run-of-the-mill e-liquid tobacco, capturing some element of the genuine taste but really losing out when it comes to robustness of flavor.

Overall: This is a little disappointing. It’s a decent option for any vapers that love menthol juices, particularly because that element has been pulled off so well, but the tobacco really lets it down, to the point where the juice would have been better without it included at all.

One Eyed Willy’s – Rating 3/5

Accuracy: This is Hippie Holler’s version of an RY4, the archetypal e-liquid version of tobacco, brought to life with caramel and vanilla. The flavor here is warm, with the caramel taking center-stage without being overly sweet, and being backed up by the vanilla, particularly on the exhale. The tobacco is present as an undertone, detectable at the back of the mix but far from a dominant element.

Overall: One Eyed Willy’s is an enjoyable juice, but again doesn’t quite hit the level of quality it could, losing out slightly on robustness of the flavor. The caramel and vanilla still manage to carry the flavor pretty well, though, and it still makes for a nice vape overall. It’s nothing amazing, and definitely not the best RY4 you’ll find, but it’s a good option non-the-less.

Freedom – Rating 4.5/5

Accuracy: This is a berries and cream flavor, with the specific type of berries being unspecified. That said, blueberry is the dominant flavor you pick up when vaping this juice; the level of sweetness hints at the presence of others too, possibly blackberry. The cream backs the whole flavor up well, adding a smooth, rich undertone to the flavor.

Overall: This is another excellent offering, up there with the best we tried from Hippie Holler. It has just the right amount of sweetness, but it’s softened throughout by the cream, producing a liquid that’s tasty enough to keep you wanting more but gentle enough to prevent it from becoming sickly. A definite all-day vape for me, and another one that’s it’s well-worth getting a bottle of if you place an order.

Pink Panther – Rating 4.5/5

Accuracy: This is a strawberry and banana e-liquid, aiming for a juicy, ripe, fruity flavor. As with the other fruity options from Hippie Holler, the flavors are well-replicated and come through clearly. The strawberry is the dominant flavor of the two, and is particularly realistic, evoking memories of the genuine fruit with every puff. The banana is more notable on the inhale, and while not quite having the strength of the strawberry flavor, still does an impressive job of capturing the taste of the genuine article.

Overall: This is downright delicious, with the perfect level of sweetness and the mouth-watering juiciness of the fruit coming through. It might not be the most original combination on the market, but when something straightforward is accomplished this well it transcends such criticism. Undoubtedly an all day vape, and one you should definitely pick up if you place an order with Hippie Holler – unless you have some bizarre aversion to strawberries and banana, you’ll love it.
