Joyetech eVic VTC Mini is a solid mod that will allow you to vape however you see fit! You can use it in the TC mode but if that’s not to your liking simply switch to wattage or bypass modes with a click of a button. Ergonomically designed, the Mini is smaller than its predecessor and sits comfortably in your hand while delivering the same output. It’s also firmware upgradable and currently on V3.0.
Is it worth picking up?
As far as recommending the Joyetech eVic VTC Mini mod I have to say that it has wrestled out an endorsement from me. I mean, it’s not really perfect but it’s easy to use and caters to different styles of vaping.
Regardless of whether you’re a beginner or an expert vaper you will find it intuitive and adjustable to your preferences and with the increased power output it is also capable of packing a punch. Its reasonable price puts it in the mid-range but I would go as far as saying that this mode is capable of competing with products with a heftier price tag for sure. If only they would send a different tank with it!

Recently I’ve gotten my hands on this device and decided it was high time I took it out for a spin. You see, I’m not a huge fan of JoyeTech devices. I got burned with the EGO One CT – really disliked that one – so I guess that kind of colored my opinion of the whole company and their products. Not that it necessarily should, mind you. That is the reason I’ve decided to give this one a go – so let’s dig into the Joyetech eVic VTC Mini review and see if I’ll get pleasantly surprised.
The Packaging
The packaging is nothing special in my opinion. It’s a stylish little box that, once opened, displays your mod snuggly cushioned inside a foam cut-out. Since this was a starter kit, below it I found my eGo One Mega tank pre-fitted with Ni 200 coil. The tank also comes protected in a foam cut-out but the cut-out is a lot smaller than the box. I guess someone dropped it along the way because there was a little nick on the tank and I’m not surprised since both the tank and the cut-out have a lot of wiggle room there.
I do hope Joyetech starts paying more attention to how they package their products in the future – I’m an easy going customer but a lot of people are not.

The warranty period is 90 days from the day of purchase. I usually don’t bust companies’ chops over warranties in my reviews but I’ll make an exception in this case. Because of the less than perfect packaging, I advise you to thoroughly inspect your device and the tank to check for damage – it might be touch and go but damaged goods should be replaced by the sender. It’s their obligation to deal with the shipping company in case of any problems – it really shouldn’t be yours.
JoyeTech eVic VTC Mini at a Glance
The first thing I want to mention is that this device has a V3.0 firmware – lucky for me. The first version had a maximum power output of 60W. V2.0 improved on that so the output became W75 and they’ve added a TC feature for 304 SS. I’m not sure but I’m guessing that V3.0 added a TC feature for 316 SS because that is the preferred TC wire for steel. Again, not certain but there sure is a 316 SS setting so that’s my best guess.

Aesthetics and Design
This is a mini mod in the true sense of the word. While I’m not a huge fan and prefer slightly larger mods I understand that size is important to a lot of people –as it should be! – so I won’t really hold this against eVic VTC Mini. It’s just not my cup of tea.
The mod is made from stainless steel and looks and feels sturdy enough – dropping it won’t be too much of an issue, trust me – I’ve tested it inadvertently a couple of times. It sits great in the hand. It’s comfortable but the thing that concerns me is that it’s very polished. Slippage might be an issue for some people who are used to using mods that allow for a tighter, more controlled grip – me, for instance!
Also, the mod is a fingertip magnet – at least in black. I’m pretty sure that white and cyan hold up way better when it comes to this but the black one really doesn’t. Since I suffer from a self-diagnosed OCD disorder I spent a lot of time wiping it against my shirt to get rid of my greasy fingertips.
Buttons
I might have mentioned this before but I for one like to know exactly where my buttons are. I had an issue with the recent Innokin Cortex TC since it has a flush-sitting fire button that I miss more often than I hit. Joyetech didn’t present me with such a problem.
The fire button sits in an indentation and you can really miss it. It’s right there and easy to hit if you’re tactility challenged as I am. The settings buttons are located right below the screen and are graced by the same easy-to-hit-and-maneuver feature.
One thing I don’t really like about the buttons is that they are made from the cheapest plastic I reckon Joyetech could find. After a few weeks of use, they started to feel all wiggly and they were not that great looking to begin with.
Screen
I love this screen! It’s both large and clear and luminous. It lights up and is very easy to read – large fonts and great lighting. So that’s a huge plus for me. It’s located on the front side of the eVic VTC Mini, right opposed to the battery.
Another great option is that you can put the screen into stealth mode. Some people like to have this option when they’re sneaking away a puff somewhere where they shouldn’t. For me it’s not really useful – I don’t know about you but the amount of vape coming out of me is a sure giveaway.
Battery
The battery casing is a real treat. It’s located on the side of the device and no screwing or unscrewing is necessary since it has a magnetic cover. Simply pop it open, insert the battery – positive side up – and snap it back in place!
It doesn’t rattle, doesn’t fall off unexpectedly, and it keeps the battery firmly in place. You won’t be able to place the cover any way you like – turn it upside down and it won’t close because of the difference in polarity.
Ease of use
Joyetech eVic VTC Mini is relatively easy to use and caters to all kinds of vapers out there. Thanks to its TC mode, power mode, and bypass mode you will be able to adjust it to your preferences in no time – though it is going to be a bit tricky to figure out the settings if you skip reading the manual.
For all you lazy people out there I’ll include a quick and dirty rundown of how to change your settings on this thing.
Entering the Menu mode
Simply press the fire button 3 times fast. Remember, press it 5 times and it’s going to shut off. Press 5 times again to turn it on.
Choosing the mode
Once you’ve entered the menu by pressing the fire button 3 times you will be able to change the power mode by hitting the + button. You can switch between TC Ni, TC Ti, TC 316SS, TCR M1, Power and Bypass modes.
Once you have the mode you need simply hit the fire button once to lock it in.
Adjusting wattage
Adjusting wattage is a breeze. Simply go into the menu mode, hit the – button once and then use the + button to set it up to the desired wattage. The only thing that is a bit troublesome is that it goes in one direction only. It will go through 0 to 75 W fast, in 0.1 increments but if you miss your desired wattage setting you will have to circle back to it.
You can easily lock your atomizer and change the fourth line of readings by selecting them using the – button while in the menu mode and using the + button to adjust the setting. Easy-peasy, right?
Vaping Experience
Joyetech eVic VTC Mini works like a charm in every mode you select. I especially liked using it in TC mode with a Titanium coil. It gives off a nice, cool vape – which I prefer to hot and steamy any time of the day.
But regardless of the mode, it’s going to provide you with a pleasant and consistent vape – I just prefer TC as it eliminates dry hits almost completely –at least this one does.
If there is one thing that I really didn’t like in this kit, it is the eGo One Mega tank. It’s just not up to par and can’t keep up with it.
I have been vaping eVic VTC Mini by Joyetech using my personal favorite for the last couple of weeks – the Innokin iSub S tank – and I’m enjoying it. Great flavorsome vape and a lot of controls to tinker with to tailor your vaping experience.
