I Love Salts Review

Mad Hatter Juice - I Love Salts
Bottom Line
The I Love Salts juices are fairly straightforward in terms of flavor and focus on fruits, but the replications are impressively-accurate and the juices themselves are delicious. For anybody with a pod-style device, these juices have enough nicotine to keep you going and are well worth the $16.99.

Are they worth picking up?

Mad Hatter puts out great ordinary juice, and the I Love Salts line is no exception. The flavors I tired aren’t quite as exciting or in-your-face as the options from the main line-up – and there isn’t anything dessert-like in the salt flavors – but for lovers of fruit, tobacco or menthol with pod-style devices they’re excellent e-liquids.

I didn’t enjoy Tropic Mango as much but there is definitely an element of personal preference in there, and both juices hit the nail on the head in terms of accuracy. At $16.99 for 30 ml (currently on-sale, the usual price is $19.99), it’s a great deal for quite a few pods’ worth of e-juice.

Mad Hatter I Love Salts Review

Nicotine salt e-liquids are a sign of the times. While devices had been getting increasingly big and e-juice nicotine strengths had been getting lower and lower, the advent of pod systems changed all of this. Now smaller, less powerful devices are flooding the market, and with them comes the need for higher strength e-liquids. Salt juices are the ideal solution, because even with obscenely-high nicotine strengths they don’t hit the back of your throat like a steam train covered in sandpaper, allowing you to get the nicotine you want without it being unpleasant or even impossible to vape. While premium e-juice used to be all about big clouds and low nicotine, many mixers are putting out alternative salt e-juice lines to serve the needs of vapers with pod systems.

Mad Hatter Juice is one of these, most well-known for awesome flavors like I Love Cookies, but now hitting the market with the I Love Salts line. These come in high nicotine and little bottles, boasting the same quality as their more well-known offerings but in a more pod-friendly format. But are they all that good? Our Mad Hatter I Love Salts review tests a couple of the juices to see.

Packaging and Design

I Love Salts 30 ml Bottles

The I Love Salts juices come in mini Gorilla bottles, with the same design as the standard bigger ones in a much shorter, 30 ml package. They have child-proof caps, and even they’re still plastic, the bottles are undoubtedly high quality. The design is pretty good too, with “I [heart] salts” on the front and the Mad Hatter logo in the heart, and the name of the flavor, nicotine strength and size of the bottle underneath. The side of the label has a few icons representing the components of the flavor, which is a really nice touch that means you always know what to expect.

Overall the bottles are simple but they get the job done and look pretty cool at the same time.

Mixing Options

I Love Salts Nicotine Strength

The nicotine strengths in I Love Salts are high, by definition. You get the choice between 25 and 50 mg/ml, which is great for most vapers looking for salt e-liquids. Of course some extra options would have been good, but there isn’t much cause for complaint here: you’re always going to get high-nicotine if you’re looking for salt e-liquid, so the two options will be suitable for most vapers.

The juices have a 50/50 PG/VG mix, intended to make the juices suitable for basic pod systems that might not cope too well with thicker, higher-VG blends. You don’t get any options, but realistically this is the right choice for this kind of juice and it will work well with pretty much any pod-style device on the market.

So overall there aren’t many options for the I Love Salts juices, but they meet their intended market pretty well.

Tropical Mango – Rating 3.5/5

Accuracy: This is billed as a blend of mango, coconut and pineapple, aiming for a tropical punch type of thing. The result is pretty good, with the characteristic flavor of mango coming through immediately, particularly on the nose. Pineapple hits you a little more on the exhale, with the coconut present throughout and mellowing out the stronger flavors from the fruits. You pick up all the elements of the juice clearly, and they all taste pretty realistic too.

Overall: This juice is pleasant overall, nothing too amazing but a nice fruity mix that goes down easily. The biggest downside is the effect of the coconut: it dampens the more interesting flavors that come through from the mango and pineapple. On the plus side it does bring the flavors together – and it is a good replication of coconut – but that’s what stops it from being as exciting for me.

Blue Raspberry – Rating 4.5/5

Blue Raspberry - Mad Hatter I Love Salts

Accuracy: This is described as a mixture of sweet blueberry and raspberry, evoking memories of the soft drinks and candies that use same name for the blend. The juice definitely does what it sets out to, with the blueberry being the first thing you pick up. It’s definitely a sweet flavor, whether it’s the touches of raspberry you get when you’re vaping, sweetness from the blueberry or a combination of the two. In any case it’s definitely what you’d expect from the description.

Overall: This is really delicious. Blueberry can be quite a subtle flavor but the juice captures it perfectly, and the combination with the raspberry works perfectly, with its sharpness complimenting the softer taste of the blueberry. The flavor also has more of a punch than Tropical Mango, and with both elements coming through clearly it works really well. Overall, it’s a great flavor and definitely one to pick up.
